J-Lab (Jaguar Lab)
Supporting Student Success at St. Joseph Catholic School
J-Lab is a dedicated learning space at St. Joseph Catholic School that provides personalized academic support for students in need. Led by Ms. Terri Schraegle, a seasoned educator with multiple certifications, including as a language/reading therapist, J-Lab serves over 50 students each year with a range of needs, from specific academic challenges to ongoing support for diagnosed learning differences.
What We Offer:
Individualized Support: J-Lab is available to students who need additional instruction in subjects like reading, math, and language development. Whether a student is struggling with specific concepts or needs extra help to catch up after an absence, J-Lab offers tailored tutoring and focused learning.
Specialized Programs: Students with diagnosed learning disorders, such as reading difficulties or math weaknesses, may participate in programs like Take Flight, a multisensory intervention designed for children with reading differences. This program helps students build foundational skills through an engaging, hands-on approach.
Dual Language Support: J-Lab also supports dual language learners, providing enrichment for students who are developing their language and literacy skills in both English and their first language.
How It Works:
Teacher, Parent, and Administration Referral: Students are referred to J-Lab by their teachers, parents, or school administrators based on their academic needs.
Parental Permission: Parental consent is required for students to participate in J-Lab services.
J-Lab is committed to providing each student with the tools they need to succeed academically, helping them overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential.
