Why I Teach:

I teach to help prepare students for their future and to become successful at navigating a technology-driven world.

Education and Training:

I attended Bishop Lynch High School and then earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science at the University of North Texas. I have attended the TCEA conference twice and taken multiple courses on coding in the classroom with computers and robots.  I have been trained in Microsoft Office and I am a part of the Microsoft Education Community.

 Where I have lived:

I’m not a native Texan, but I got here as soon as I could!  I moved to Dallas with my family when I was 2 years old from Granite City IL. I have also lived in Frisco, Denton, Austin, and Garland, Richardson, and currently reside in Murphy.

 My Professional Experience

Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked as a department manager at Dick’s Sporting Goods and enjoyed sharing my knowledge about hunting, fishing, and camping.  I have also worked in the land department at an oil and gas company.

 My Family:

I have a wonderful wife, Emily, who is Pediatric Nurse Practitioner by profession. We have two children Ryan and Kinley, who both attend St. Joseph.  Ryan enjoys flag football, video games, and Scouts, and Kinley enjoys softball and cross country.

Something you might not know about me:

I love to hike and camp! I have climbed five 14,000 ft. mountains in Colorado, and have attended Philmont Boy Scout camp 3 times. I also earned my Eagle Scout in 1996.

 My prayer for my students:

I pray that my students do their best in school and with their use of computers and mobile devices with Catholic values in mind.
